Annual SAPRIN Conference 2025: Advancing Health and Social Wellbeing through Population Science Population health science is an invaluable tool for understanding and improving the overall health of communities. The discipline offers crucial opportunities for providing insights to policymaking, healthcare delivery, and public health interventions. The Annual SAPRIN Conference will take place from 21 – 23 July 2025 at Krystal Beach Hotel in Gordon’s Bay, Cape Town. The theme of the conference is Advancing Health and Social Wellbeing through Population Science. The four sub-themes are: Public Health and Social Wellbeing, Implementation Science, Research to Policy and Practice Translation and Epidemiology and Surveillance. We are calling for abstracts that speak to the theme and related sub-themes. We are interested in receiving qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods studies, or reports on service delivery related projects. The abstract needs to be appropriately structured according to the method used for the study or report. Empiric studies should be structured under the following headings: Background, Methods, Results/Findings, Conclusion. Service delivery reports should be structured as follows: Purpose, Methods, Findings, Conclusion. Abstracts may report preliminary findings as well. The word limit for the abstracts is 300 words. No tables, figures, or references may be used in the abstract. All text must be written in standard UK or South African English. All abstracts will be peer reviewed and selected by standardised criteria. You may submit the abstract for an oral presentation or poster presentation. The reviewers may decide to accept the abstract for a category you may not have submitted the abstract in. In such a case you will be notified to decide if you accept the alternative presentation. The closing date for abstracts is 30 April at 16h00. Successful applicants will be notified by 03 June. Oral presentations should be 15 min (10min presentation with 5 min Q&A). Posters should be interesting, creative, and not very wordy. The poster needs to be in portrait view and the maximum size of the poster should be 84cm (width) by 118 cm (length) (A0). Posters will be mounted with double sided tape. If this will damage the poster it is the prerogative of the presenter to provide an alternative mechanism for mounting the poster. SAPRIN and the conference organisers cannot be held responsible for any damage to the poster. Posters not collected at the end of the conference will be discarded.
